Sabyasachi Mukherjee, the well-known designer, made the custom lehenga that Priyanka Chopra wore for her Hindu wedding. He took to Instagram to share the fine craftsmanship and hard work that went into the making of bespoke deep red Kanauj rose lehenga for Priyanka Chopra.
Priyanka Chopra’s wedding to Nick Jonas made headlines owing to the extravagant wedding that took place in lavish Umaid Bhawan, Jodhpur. The pictures from the wedding have already made it to the top of our social media timelines with everyone in awe of how spectacular the couple looked together.
The couple married twice according to both Hindu and Christian rituals. It was a sight to remember when Priyanka Chopra walked down the aisle in a spectacular Ralph Lauren Gown with a 75 ft long veil for her Christian wedding. For her Hindu wedding, she donned a custom deep red Kanauj rose lehenga made by ace designer Sabyasachi. It took 3,720 man-hours and 110 embroiderers from Kolkata to create the exquisite custom-made creation, one of the best from Sabyasachi.

Sabyasachi even posted an image outlining the whole process of designing the spectacular lehenga.
He said, “The idea for creating a tonal bright lehenga came to us while we were working on our 2012 Couture Collection- ‘New Moon’. In 2015, we updated the look for our collaborative Couture Show- ‘Bater’ with Christian Louboutin. He further revealed that the Priyanka Chopra’s neo-traditional bridal lehenga was the result of an active collaboration between the designer and the bride.
