Ganesh Chaturthi, the spectacular festival that honors the birth of the beloved elephant-headed god, Lord Ganesha, is here. A Ganesh pooja is always incomplete without his favorite sweet, the Modak. As the city prepares to make the most of this iconic festival with delicacies and savories of every kind, the humble Modak is being crafted with a contemporary twist.
By introducing new flavors such as peanut butter and chocolate, peppermint, cashew saffron, etc., we can give the traditional Modak a whole new face, entwined with a gourmet experience. It’s not just Modaks; contemporary Indian sweets like Shahi Tukda and Gulkand Panna Cotta are also getting this luxe touch.

Some Useful Tips
- If you are unable to find ricotta cheese at your local store, you can easily use regular store-bought khoya instead.
- If you don’t have Modak moulds, you can shape the mixture by hand into traditional Modak shapes. Alternatively, shape it into small balls and serve them like pedas!
