Madhu Chopra, Priyanka Chopra’s Mother Shares Her Feelings After Her Daughter Married Nick Jonas In A Lavish Ceremony In Jodhpur
Priyanka Chopra married singer Nick Jonas in an extravagant ceremony that spanned 5 days at the lavish Umaid Bhawan Palace, Jodhpur. It was followed by a grand reception in Delhi.
Priyanka Chopra’s mother walked her down the aisle for the Christian ceremony that took place on December 1. In a spectacular Ralph Lauren gown with a 75-foot long veil, Priyanka got everyone floored as she walked down the aisle. Her long veil also became a source of many memes on the Internet which got people rolling on the floor.
Madhu Chopra, in an interview with DNA, shared her feelings about the wedding. In the interview, she told how she broke down into tears on seeing her daughter as a bride.
While describing her daugter’s Catholic wedding, she said, – “I was at a loss of words. When I saw Priyanka, I couldn’t control my emotions. The white gown was so beautiful. My baby looked like a princess.”
She further added, “It was an emotional moment for everyone. I broke into tears when I saw Priyanka dressed as a bride. I had waited for this day all my life.”
Talking about the Indian wedding, she told DNA, “We followed all the rituals to the T. There were no shortcuts. I wanted an Indian Shadi for her and Priyanka knew that. She fulfilled my wish. It’s lovely to see the amount of love people have for her and Nick.”
Madhu Chopra also went on to say how ‘proud’ she is of Priyanka Chopra.
In the DNA interview, she was quoted as saying, “I’m immensely proud of her. It’s majorly because she has done so well for herself and still continues to be so rooted. Woh dekhke mujhe yehi laga ki chahein woh kitna bhi West mein rahe, she will always be connected to our culture.”
Talking further, Madhu Chopra seemed to be in awe of her son in law, Nick Jonas who she said makes everyone around him comfortable and ‘the best son-in-law on could have asked for’.
She said, “Nick is immensely respectful and well-spoken. He makes sure everyone around him comfortable. He’s the best son-in-law one could ask for.”
She even was pretty much impressed by the warmth and love shown by Nick’s family all along.
She went on to say, “Nick’s family members are such lovely human beings. They were completely fine with the blend of the cultures and Nick is immensely respectful and well-spoken.”.
