His character is based on a real-life personality, with shades of grey. The story is plotted in the backdrop of a rustic and ruthless Rajasthan, where Jimmy Shergill aka Amar pal Singh, from the buzzing city of Jaipur, is preparing for his UPSC. A Rajput by religion, he is well focused on his dreams of landing a government job as a top bureaucrat. However, as it is said, ‘You are always one decision away from a different life’. His friends convince him to contest the college elections, where he emerges victorious, and the journey takes a massive turn. Making him a dreaded figure in the state. He does enjoy a rise in his illegal business but fails miserably to make it legal. Frustrated and furious, one situation leads to another, and one crime beckons the next. He shares this journey with other promising faces, chalked out to detail by Director Sachin Pathak.
Spruha Joshi portrays Jimmy’s graceful and devoted wife. After their marriage, Jimmy gets to learn a lot about the harsh realities of life and the shadows of caste politics that have prevailed in the state since ages. They are dark, dirty and have left no one easy. That’s when Sushant Singh, essaying the role of a Jaat ‘Jairam’ comes to his rescue as a close friend. He does complete justice to the screen with great seamlessness. I’d say, his disappearance from the big screen is their loss. Later, a closely contested Panchayat election sees Jimmy lock horns with the ever-powerful Sharad Kelkar. massive personality lends the perfect shade of a cruel villain. Their shrewd rivalry takes the crime scene in the state to a whole new level. Gul Panag plays her finest as a Stock Broker who has lost a huge amount in the market and comes to Jimmy for help. She performs staggeringly as Jimmy’s close aide, although there could have been more of her utilization. Finally, Zeeshan Ayyub portrays a crucial role towards the second half of the web series, from a quiet college student to a smart police officer, he plays the role to perfection.
The plot is extremely interesting, and the story acts as a strong narrative right since the beginning. It captures the Rajasthani essence well and throws ample light on the bitter political rivalries between the Rajputs and the Jats, leading to political gang wars in Rajasthan. The dialogues are crisp and spectacularly delivered, making every frame a treat to watch. It hooks the viewer to get more of it.
