You may feel elated when it rains, but then you also have to deal with dry, dull and frizzy hair, and that tends to get very annoying, isn’t it? Dirty rain water leads to growth of bacteria and fungus on the scalp, hair becomes dry and frizzy and it’s almost impossible to accomplish that perfect look for office, because you just cannot style your hair. Sounds like your every year monsoon story? Well follow these tips and let your hair down this monsoon!
Shampoo frequently
Don’t go by the myth that regular shampooing causes hair loss. On the other hand, it helps wash away the dirt and bacteria and keeps the scalp clean and healthy. Use a mild shampoo, if you are going to wash your hair frequently or every day.
Use a mix of lemon juice and tea
The mixture of lemon juice and tea adds shine to your hair.
Use a good conditioner
Hair usually becomes frizzy during monsoons. Get a good conditioner to smoothen the frizz. Anti-frizz serums are quite effective for curly or permed hair, though it’s advisable to avoid perming and curling during rains. If you are using a conditioner, apply only on the hair shaft.
Proper use of hairdryer
During rains, hair takes really long to dry and so a hairdryer comes to your rescue. Keep the hairdryer about 6-8” away and always attach a diffuser while drying.
Drink plenty of water
It is important to keep up the moisture level intact. For this, you need to drink plenty of water.
Use protein-rich hair packs
Make a hair pack by mixing crushed fenugreek (methi) with olive oil, yogurt and egg white. Apply and leave it for 30 minutes. Wash it with lukewarm water. This prevents hair breakage and keeps it healthy and bouncy.
