Reliance Retail Limited (RRL) has acquired global haircare brand Anomaly, founded by actor and entrepreneur Priyanka Chopra Jonas, marking a significant expansion of its beauty and personal care portfolio. The acquisition includes Anomaly’s trademarks, brand assets and digital properties, strengthening Reliance Retail’s strategy of building and scaling high-growth consumer brands in India and international markets, according to an exchange filing dated April 30, 2026.
Reliance Retail Expands Beauty Business with Anomaly Acquisition
Launched in 2021, Anomaly has gained recognition as a clean, vegan and high-performance haircare brand offered at an accessible price point. The brand has established a strong presence across key global markets and will now become part of Reliance Retail’s beauty ecosystem.
Anomaly to Leverage Reliance’s Omnichannel Retail Network
With full ownership of Anomaly’s intellectual property and digital ecosystem, Reliance Retail plans to leverage its extensive retail network and omnichannel platforms, including Tira, to accelerate the brand’s growth. According to the official release, the company aims to deepen its presence in the fast-growing beauty and personal care segment while enhancing consumer accessibility across markets.
Commenting on the acquisition, Isha Ambani, Executive Director of Reliance Retail Ventures Limited, said “Anomaly’s strong global positioning, clean formulation philosophy, and accessible pricing make it a compelling addition to our ecosystem. We see immense potential in collaborating with Priyanka to scale the brand in India by leveraging our omnichannel capabilities and deep consumer insights, while continuing to grow its international presence.”
Reliance Retail said it has identified India as a priority market for Anomaly and plans to focus on innovation tailored to Indian hair and scalp care needs. The company will also continue to scale the brand’s international presence in markets such as North America, the United Kingdom and the Middle East.
Priyanka Chopra Jonas to Continue as Creative Director
Priyanka Chopra Jonas will remain closely associated with the brand as Creative Director, overseeing innovation, product development and brand strategy. She described the acquisition as a defining moment in Anomaly’s journey, saying Reliance Retail’s scale, retail expertise and commitment to innovation would help the brand reach a wider consumer base globally.
