Hugh Jackman Earns Guinness World Record

The Aussie Actor Hugh Jackman, who is counted among A-listers in Hollywood had every award to his name. He had won a Golden Globe, an Emmy, a Grammy and two Tonys but now he is also a holder of a Guinness World Record.

When Jackman appeared on British morning show “This Morning”, the 50-year-old actor got pleasantly surprised on being presented with a certificate by Craig Glenday, editor-in-chief of Guinness World Records, declaring him to hold the record for having the longest run playing a live-action Marvel superhero.

For the actor, it was a lifelong dream that got fulfilled, owing to his long-running role as Wolverine, which he first played in 2000’s “X-Men”.

Jackman said, “When I was a kid, the Guinness Book of Records was it.

He even went on to reveal how he and his brother used to cook up schemes to win one. He said,

“My brother and I thought — badminton, you don’t have to play it hard, two nights without sleep — we can definitely do that!”

However, the actor is not the only one to hold the honour. He shares it with his “X-Men” co-star Sir Patrick Stewart, who debuted in the role of Charles Xavier (a.k.a. Professor X) in the same film — with both actors playing their respective roles for the final time in 2017’s “Logan”. As per the Guinness, the actors’ roles lasted for 16 years and 228 days.
