Sushmita Sen has been the known diva to age graciously well. The actress turns 43 yesterday and we can’t stop applauding her for her efforts towards fitness and the society. The mother of two has always led an active lifestyle and contributes a lot of her physique to her diet and exercise routine. We aren’t even surprised by the stunning transformation which she has undergone and it’s quite unbelievable that Sushmita Sen turned 43 this Monday. When asked about her secret to her fitness and her awe-inspiring transformation, she modestly said that people put a lot of emphasis on their age factor. According to her, every person ages at some point and it is just about handling it well. She committed to saying that she wants to age gracefully while enjoying the process.

To give you an insight about her simple childhood, you’d be surprised to know that Sushmita Sen was born in Bengali Baidya family in Hyderabad on November 19, 1975. Her father, Shubeer Sen, was on the post of Indian Air Force Wing Commander, and her mother Subhra Sen, is a jewellery designer and owner of a Dubai-based store. She also has two siblings, her sister Neelam and brother Rajeev. She pursued her primary education from St. Ann’s High School in Secunderabad and then attended Air Force Golden Jubilee Institute in New Delhi, however, later decided to opt out of higher education. The golden moment of her life was when at the age of 18 in 1994, she was awarded the Miss Universe pageant. This year on the same day, recalling the memory Sushmita Sen said “I was 18 yrs old when India won Miss Universe for the very first time on 21st May 1994… I am 42 now, still a ‘Miss’ with a ‘Universe’ inside of me!!!!”
Soon following this success, the model turned actor was cast by Mahesh Bhatt in his movie Dastak, which became Sushmita Sen’s first starrer. Later she also joined the cast of Ratchagan, a Tamil film which came out in 1997. More of her movies include Sirf Tum, Biwi No. 1, Kyo Kii… Main Jhuth Nahin Bolta, Aankhen, Filhaal…, Vaastu Shastra, Main Hoon Na, Chingaari, Maine Pyaar Kyun Kiya?, Zindaggi Rocks, Karma Aur Holi and No Problem.
The single mother of two has also gone ahead and stood up for social causes thus being revered from people all around the world. In 2013, she was graced with the Mother Teresa Award. She has been known to be a kind-hearted person, and a single glance at her personal life surely proves the same as she has been known to adopt two girls, one at the age of 25 in 2000, whom she named Renee and second daughter in 2010, whom she named Alishah.
