1. Started Music From A Very Young Age

Shreya aspired to become a playback singer since childhood and her formal training in classical music began when she was just 6 years of age.

2. Switched Her Stream From Science To Arts

Initially, Shreya was a science student but it was just a matter of time before she realised that she wanted to pursue singing as a career. She eventually dropped out her course and got enrolled in SIES college to study arts.

3. Won “Sa Re Ga Ma Pa” In Her Teenage Years

She was just 16 years of age when she won the TV singing reality show Sa Re Ga Ma Pa, following which opened doors of Bollywood for her as a playback singer.

4. Won Filmfare Award For Best Female Playback Singer For Her Debut Song Itself

She made her Bollywood debut in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s romantic drama Devdas in 2002 for which she went on to receive a National Film Award and a Filmfare Award for Best Female Playback Singer for her debut song.

5. Has Slew Of Awards To Her Name

Shreya has received many awards including four National Film Awards, six Filmfare Awards including five for Best Female Playback Singer, nine Filmfare Awards South, Four Kerala State Film Awards and two Tamil Nadu State Film Awards.
