The wait is finally over! Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh tied the knot and shared their first pictures as newlyweds, following a series of pictures posted by the guests and team of the different functions help and the photos look nothing short of a fairytale, sending the fans into a frenzy and breaking the internet.

The Bollywood power couple married in a traditional Konkani ceremony on November 14 followed by a Sindhi wedding on November 15. The wedding, held at the Villa del Balbianello on Lake Como in Italy, was an extremely private affair with family and close friends attending – combined, the ladkiwale and ladkewale added upto 45 only. Deepika’s parents Ujwala and Prakash Padukone and sister Anisha led the ladkiwale – Anisha even updated her Instagram bio to reflect this – and the baaraat included Ranveer Singh’s parents and sister Ritika.

It’s beautiful how the two have blended so well in each other’s customs and traditions.

While many pictures and videos have been leaked from outside the venue, nothing official made its way online until the couple took to their social media handles and released the first official pictures from their much-anticipated wedding. The couple looks extremely beautiful and completely in love.

Ranveer wore a traditional ivory and gold veshti and Deepika wore a red and gold silk saree for the Konkani wedding. For the Sindhi (Anand Karaj) ceremony, Ranveer opted for a red kanjeevaram sherwani and Deepika wore a red and gold lehenga.

The couple plans to throw two lavish wedding receptions back home for extended family and Bollywood friends and are moving south for that first.

Bengaluru reception on November 21

Before indulging their B-Town friends into the revelry with their Mumbai reception, the couple is planning to host a reception in Deepika’s hometown. They have booked the ballroom of The Leela Palace Hotel for the grand reception on November 21 that will have Deepika’s extended family and close friends in attendance. According to a report, Deepika has chosen The Leela for her reception for a very special reason.

“The biggest reason why Deepika chose to have the reception at the Leela, Bangalore was renowned Italian restaurant of New York, Le Cirque which goes by the name Le Cirque Signature. DP loves the restaurant in NYC and their franchise in Bengaluru drew Deepika to The Leela. Her mother has also gone food tasting 2-3 times. The food will be predominantly South Indian though. They will check into the hotel on 20th and check out on 22nd,” a source told an entertainment portal.

Mumbai reception on November 28

A week after their Bengaluru wedding, the couple will host a reception for Bollywood friends in Mumbai’s Grand Hyatt. Who’s who of Bollywood is expected to grace the reception on November 28. While Sanjay Leela Bhansali and Farah Khan are the only Bollywood celebrities to be invited to the wedding in Italy, the rest will make their way to the wedding festivities on reception.
