Where Have These Television Men Gone

Remember Ashish Chowdhry? This super hot dude who was last seen playing Boman Contractor in the Dhamaal series. Though, we never got to see much of him before or after that. Sigh! What’s great is that this macho man who ruled the ramp during the 90’s is currently seen as the tough and no nonsense business tycoon Raghav Singhania in Zee TV’s popular daily soap Ek Mutthi Aasman.

While this is the first time we are seeing Ashish on the small screen and he has already won hearts, there are a number Of men who ruled the tv screen at one point but are no where to be found now.

Amar Upadhyay

This was one man who surpassed all levels of popularity as Mihir Virani in Star Plus’s Kyunkii Saas Bhi Kabhii Bahu Thi during the early 2000’s. Such was his craze that when his character on the show died, there were protest marches and requests coming from all across the country that prompted his return to the show. Amar then went on to act in movies and was also seen in Bigg Boss Season 5. However, unfortunately things didn’t quite work out for the Mumbai boy and he slowly faded away from the limelight.

Càzzene Khan

Still remembered as Anurag Basu,he had a smile that could melt hearts away. Just like Amar Upadhyay, Càzzene also got his taste of success thanks to Ekta Kapoor’s Kasuati Zindagii Kay also aired on Star Plus. Such was his popularity that he was daunted as the next big thing. Càzzene also went to star in Ek Ladki Anjaani Si and Seeta and Geeta later on. However, he failed to recreate the magic that he did as Anurag Basu. Last heard he was busy doing Pakistani daily soaps. How we wish we could see that dimpled smile, again.

Vishal Singh

If you were a 90’s kid you would instantly remember him as the cute teenager Sanju from Dekh Bhai Dekh, the popular comedy series on Sony TV. We last saw him as Jeet Ahuja in Parvarish-Kuch Khattii Kuch Meethii on Sony TV. However Vishal never could quite leave as much an impact as he did during the 90’s though his role as Dr Siddhant Awasthi in Astitva..Ek Prem Kahani is also fondly remembered.

Yash Tonk

Yash was at his peak on television during the early 2000’s.  He might be seen odd roles in movies (think Babu in the recently released Jai Ho) but we quite miss him on TV. His lead role as Kunal Sikand in Kahinn Kissi Roz on Star Plus was much loved.

Akash Deep Saigal aka Sky Walker

The bad boy we loved to hate. He is still remembered as the lean n’ mean Ansh Gujral from Kyunkii Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi. Sky was seen in Bigg Boss Season 5 where he got evicted only on day 98 and was much liked for his antics on the show. Akash also went on to change his name to Sky Walker according to numerlogy for better career prospects.  Last heard, he was working on a big screen project. Well, no matter what you work on, we wish to see you on TV again and soon!

What do you think?
