Vivek Oberoi Deletes “The Aishwarya Rai Meme” After Backlash

Actor Vivek Oberoi recently faced backlash for retweeting a meme comparing Aishwarya Rai Bachchan’s love life with elections. Vivek Oberoi posted the meme captioning it, “Haha! creative! No politics here….just life Credits: @pavansingh1985.”

Check out the deleted tweet-

The tweet didn’t go well with Twitterati and celebrities who condemned the actor for the misogynist and offensive tweet.

After so many angry tweets by fans and celebs, Vivek Oberoi learned his lesson the hard way. He deleted the tweet and posted an apology as well.

“Sometimes what appears to be funny and harmless at first glance to one, may not be so to others. I have spent the last 10 years empowering more than 2000 underprivileged girls, I cant even think of being disrespectful to any woman ever,” He wrote.

He further added,

“Even if one woman is offended by my reply to the meme, it calls for remedial action. Apologies, tweet deleted.”
