The whole nation is mourning for the 40 jawans martyred in Pulwama terror attack. It is Navjot Singh Sidhu, currently seen on The Kapil Sharma Show, who is under the heat for his insensitive remarks on Pulwama Terror Attack.
During a recent media interaction, Sidhu said,
“For a handful of people, can you blame the entire nation and can you blame an individual? It (the attack) is a cowardly act and I condemn it firmly. Violence is always condemnable and those who did it must be punished.”
He also said,
“Nations cannot be held responsible for the dastardly acts of terrorists. The terrorists do not have deen, mazhab (sect and religion). There are good, the bad and the ugly. Every institution has them. Every nation has them. The ugly need to be punished. But individuals cannot be blamed for the dastardly act.”
Navjot Singh Sidhu has now been ousted from the show and would be replaced by Archana Puran Singh. Archana Puran Singh had also replaced him in The Kapil Sharma Show in earlier in 2017 after the latter had fallen ill.
As per Indianexpress, a source told,
“His remarks have not been taken kindly by most. Also, the channel and the show was getting dragged into the unwanted controversy. This is when the team amicably decided that Navjot make a distance from the show. The team has already shot a couple of episodes with Archana,”
This is not the first time that Sony has taken a stand in a controversy. When Anu Malik was named in the MeToo campaign, he was sacked overnight as a judge from Indian Idol season 10.
