It’s that time of the year again when almost all favourite fashion stores around us are going overboard with some jaw dropping discounts at the EOSS (End of Season Sale). Given the variety of options we have in hand, if we lose our minds and go crazy shopping, you know who is to be blamed! While, shopping while the sale season is on, has an irresistible charm, a little caution here and there never hurts! I have listed out some of the most common mistakes we make just so you be careful this time!
Plan Beforehand
Don’t just pick your bags and hit the stores! Plan properly. Check through the house, the wardrobe, the kitchen shelves and make a list of the things that you actually need to buy. Please have a fixed budget to make sure you do not spend more than required.
Do Not Go Shopping With Your Girlfriends!
Yeah, I know that sounds cruel! But trust me, we end up buying things that we don’t need just cause our friends are buying the same! Going with your partner, on the other hand, ensures that they keep a strict check on what are you buying and thus you get home with a less heavy and more useful shopping bag!
Stay Away From Offers Like Buy Three Get One Free!
If you left home with a list that said one frying pan or one t-shirt, trust me, that’s all you actually need! Such offers are a great bargain only if you need to buy stuff in bulk (for gifting and other purposes). The same goes for compulsive shopping, no matter how much we love it. Don’t blindly pick up things simply because their price tag screams ‘buy me’.
Make Good Use of Trail Rooms
All of us know that anything bought during EOSS cannot be returned. Yet, we end up making the mistake of buying clothes that do not fit us well, just cause they had amazing discounts! Please take your time, try out the clothes and buy only the ones that fit you really well. Do check the quality of what you pick before you get the card swiped.
Do Not Wait Till The Last Day Of The Sale
Unless you are fond of crowd and queue, of course! The last day of the EOSS are the worst days to buy anything. The crowd goes crazy, the store keepers go crazy, everyone goes crazy. There are chances you might get a bag not meant for you, or be a victim of wrong billing and what not! Stay at home and watch your favorite movie instead.
While all these points are only to remind you not to get reckless while sale shopping, the nice old retail therapy always works well for us ladies, doesn’t it? winks
