India’s biggest fashion show Lakme fashion week just concluded with a big bang. The glamour, showbiz, and the drama was at all time high in Mumbai where the best of fashion designers and models graced the runway. It seemed that the spotlight and all the beauty was a not higher than what you would expect. Dramatic prints, edgy cuts and the beauty in perfect shape was all over the place.
Since all of us couldn’t witness the magic of beauty and fashion with our own eyes. So, whatshelikes.in presents you with all the glitz and glamorous here. We gave you a quick update about the Lakme fashion week winter edition day 1-3 here. Now, we would like to present you with the best of Day 4-6. Armaan Randhawa’s style inspiration was art. He tried to showcase the intrinsic artwork with the help of floral design in his designs. His focus was on women empowerment and that came strongly with his brand “EKAM” and collection.
Resort wear specialists Shivan & Narresh drew inspiration from the French painter Henri Rousseau. And this gorgeous golden coin work design has been a French inspiration for the designer.
Pinakin as per it’s name brought some of the gorgeous pieces which depicted femininity to it’s beauty. Flowing materials with the fluid finish and gorgeous cut work has been dominant in this collection. The gorgeous showstopper Pernia Quereshi set the stage on fire with the golden crop top with embellished neck pattern and golden skirt.
When Payal Khandwala brought out her bridal collection in collaboration with Lakme Salon, then the stage witnessed some of the best bridal collection which was not only gorgeous but also extremely wearable. And this collection had lots of blues and green which is quite unconventional for the brides.
The Label Ritu Kumar merged the best of Persian and Indian beauty into her winter edition collection of LFW 2016. Her showstopper was the gorgeous and bubbly Kriti Sanon who dazzled the crowd in a black and golden gown with Kashmiri weaves and traditional motif work.
The ultra glam duo of designers Shantanu & Nikhil came up with sensational colours and mind blowing embellishments which were equally classy and chic at the same time.But the audience skipped it breathes when the yummy mummy Malaika Arora Khan entered the runaway in her black gown with golden embellishments and sexy cutouts.
Ashish n Soni offered a sneak peak on numerous ways of styling with a black and white combo in his collection. And do you know the ultra glam factor in this collection was the voluminous hair styled by Tresemme?But then came the Roy diva who brought her quirky and sexy side up with the midi black dress and checked pattern all over it and bejewelled neck detailing.
The ace designer Anushree Reddy owned the runaway with his brilliant Indian glam clothing piece with a lot of glamours, bling and sheer fabric. The embellished thread work just looked surreal. Shilpa Shetty, the muse of Anushree Reddy displayed her playful side with her toned arms and abs in gorgeous pink splendid lehengas.
Jade’s collection was overpowered with a block and multi prints, lots of colours and embellishments. The showstopper of this designer Pooja Hedge wore a stunning blue outfit with bold silver prints in it.
Sonam & Paras Modi displayed their multi colour collection with colours like – blue, green, red and maroon. And the most exquisite part of the designer’s duo collection was the golden embroidery. But the muse of this designer was the ever elegant Prachi Desai who ended the afternoon on a graceful note with her black cold shoulders and embezzled black crop top and skirt.
Weddings are more than an occasion in India and our designers are well aware of this. So, Ridhi Mehra designed his bridal collection with dark colours and deeper necklines with floor length gowns. Ilenana D Cruz walked the ramp with a brown gown and golden exquisite border and looked every inch of a diva.
The LFW winter edition had a grand closing by none other than immensely talented Sabyasachi Mukherjee. And trust me when we say that we haven’t seen anything that grand and beautiful than this. But what stunned us more was the surreal collection of the ace designer which had the gorgeous Kareena Kapoor khan as his showstopper. The actress stunned the crowd in beautiful olive green lehengas and her gorgeous baby bump and the ever glowing skin. Kareen got emotional on the ramp and she said,“I must say it’s not one but two of us. It’s a very special moment. I have never walked for Sabyasachi before, we were not able to do a film together.”
Sanjukta Dutta showcased her gorgeous collection Mekhela Chador at one of the most celebrated show of fashion in India. her show stopper, the newly wed Bipasha Basu looked every bit of bong beauty in this saree.
Last but not the least for us one of the gorgeous collections of Kanchipuram silk sarees by Santosh Parek of Tulsi silk. And the show stopper, the ever charming Dia Mirza, looked divine in the black saree with large silver work on it. She looked extremely simple but equally ravishing. I think nobody could take their eyes off when she was on stage.
No wonder why everyone in the fashion circle keeps on waiting for Lakme Fashion week every season. it’s such a treat to eyes.
