It’s a good news for all you Sushant Singh Rajput fans out there! The trailer of his new movie – Kedarnath, released yesterday. It will also be presenting Sara Ali Khan, who will be making her debut with this film. We must say the trailer looks very promising. Watch it for yourself below.
The Plot
Directed by Abhishek Kapoor, Kedarnath is a love story between a Muslim boy, played by Sushant, who lifts pilgrims for a living, and a Hindu girl played by Sara.
The movie is set against the backdrop of the disastrous 2013 flash floods in Uttarakhand. It is quiet predictable that the inter caste love faces opposition, with an added element of nature’s fury. The movie shows how the two lovers would fight for their love while also battling the catastrophic mother nature.
Production
Kedarnath had faced difficulties with the Production aspect of the film initially. Kri Arj Entertainment the production house that were producing the film, backed out. Additionally, they also filed a lawsuit against Abhishek Kapoor and his company, alleging breach of contract.
The producers blamed Abhishek’s mismanagement and unprofessional behavior, as the reason for the delay in releasing the film.
Fortunately, RSVP – the production house lead by Ronnie Screwvala entered the scene and saved Kedarnath from being just an incomplete project.
Our Thoughts
This is Sushant’s second movie with Abhishek after Kai Poo Che, which was also his debut film. Sushant looks promising in his role and his dedication towards the character is quite visible.
Saif Ali Khan and Amrita Singh’s daughter Sara, does remind us of her mother is some scenes where she smiles exactly like her. It is difficult to comment about her acting skills by just watching the trailer as the trailer is quiet dominated by scenes and dialogues of Sushant.
We hope she plays a good performance in the movie or else we all know it wouldn’t take long for ‘Nepotism’ angle to open up yet again.
Thankfully, the VFX looks decent enough for a 2018 Bollywood movie, unlike some of the high budgeted disasters we have seen in the past.
The movie will definitely face some criticism and revolts by hurting the sentiments of some and offending the others, however, we now know that Bollywood has been able to deal with all of that with experience.
From what we can tell, Kedarnath is a good old Bollywood-style love story. But will it be good enough? We’ll find that out on 7th December 2018.
