Hands Launches an Exquisite Collection of Persian Hand knotted Carpets

Each of the exquisitely woven carpets has a curious story to tell through its complex construction of imagery.

Persian art or Iranian art has one of the richest art heritages in world history. Persian art is notable for a tradition concentrating on the human figure and animals. These artworks focus on depictions of animals and the use of geometric and imaginative designs. Hands Carpets, renowned for their handcrafted luxury carpets and rugs that have gone on to adorn some of the most prestigious palaces, hotels, institutions and residences across the world, has unveiled an extraordinary range of carpets from its ageless collection – ‘Persian’.

The ancient art of weaving Persian rugs is elevated to a glorious new level with highly detailed artistic imagery and a mesmerising medley of colours. Each of the exquisitely woven carpets has a curious story to tell through its complex construction of imagery. Patterns and motifs run across the carpet like fine thread work, or nuanced watercolours, turning it into a timeless work of art.

Handknotted in wool, botanical and pure silk, the carpets showcase the finest craftsmanship typical of the brand. The common Medalian design is rendered in luxuriant colours to yield a never-before-seen spectacle.

Similarly, exotic floral patterns create a captivating look, vintage motifs bring a haunting nostalgic value, and richly crafted intricate patterns in pastels lend a dream-like quality to them. ‘Persian’ is for those who want to live like modern royalty.

Beauty Is in the Knot: The Hand-Knotted Carpet

The hand-knotted carpet has existed for centuries. It is woven by hand – knot by knot, millimetre by millimetre. Artisans weave with their hands, as they slip a thread, the weft, into a loop around the vertical warp. A colour change in the pattern means a new thread, a new starting point. There is an almost artistic harmony to this skill, that seems to bind the soul of the weaver to the rug. It takes months, and in some cases years, to finish a fine hand-knotted carpet.

New Hands collections are introduced every season. There is also the bespoke design – completely custom-made, designed, sized, and crafted around a unique, personal expression.
