Trailer Alert: Gully Boy Makers Bring To You Amazon Prime’s Next Original Series “Made in Heaven”

If you have watched Gully Boy, you know how brilliantly Zoya Akhtar and Reema Kagti concocted a story from the streets of Bombay. Even if you have not, people who have watched the movie, are really vocal about it.

Now, if you looking forward to watch something as well written as Gully Boy, Amazon Prime’s Next Original Series “Made in Heaven” is your best bet. It is obviously because the series comes from the Gully Boy team of Zoya Akhtar and Reema Kagti.

The description of the series reads as follows on Amazon Prime,

“They say marriages are made in heaven, but the reality is slightly different on the ground. Two wedding planners give you a sneak peek into the scandalous world of crazy rich Indian weddings on 8th March, 2019”

The makers did release the first look some time back with the caption-

“Marriages are made in Heaven. *Conditions apply.”

Have a look-

A statement from the makers read, “As tradition jostles with modern aspirations against a backdrop of the Big Fat Indian Wedding, many secrets and many lies are revealed.”

The series revolves around the lives of Tara and Karan, who run a wedding agency called “Made In Heaven” and delves into their own personal lives as well as the lives of the families they are hired by. The series makes it a point that although the marriages are made in heaven, they are not without the glitches and the reality on the ground is a far cry from ‘heaven’.

Tara, the first protagonist of the story, has to justify her career being a woman in front of elders. She is also having trouble conceiving a child of her own.

Karan, on the other hand has to hide his same-sex relationship from the society.

The series features actors Sobhita Dhulipala, Kalki Koechlin and Shivani Raghuvanshi as female leads and Jim Sarbh, Shashank Arora and Arjun Mathur as the male leads. Even the supporting cast is pretty impressive with Deepti Naval, Neena Gupta, Vinay Pathak, Pulkit Samrat, Manjot Singh, Amrita Puri, and Vijay Raaz.
