Distribution of clothes to kids of 250 Chhau Dancers at Charida Village in Purulia
Speaking to the media, Mr. Subir Das, Club Secretary said, “We are dedicating this puja to kids & family members of Chhau artists in Purulia, donating a major share of the subscription and the state’s dole to them, along with making the premises available for them to perform and sell their goods. We have planned to donate clothes to kids of 250 Chhau Dancers on the occasion of World Daughter’s Day at Charida Village in Purulia & will be also giving new clothes to the family members of ‘Chhau’ dancers by supporting 50-odd families during Durga Puja.
This initiative is taken by keeping with the financial losses everyone is facing due to pandemic. Many artistes and craftsmen are facing financial hardships as festivals and fairs have been called off across the country amid the pandemic. We are inspired by our Honble CM Smt Mamta Banerjee and will do our bit to help at least some of them.”
