A Biopic On Sania Mirza?

In the last few years, Biopics have been well received by the audiences. Be it Bhaag Milkha Bhaag, Mary Kom, Gold, Dangal, M.S. Dhoni: The Untold Story, the biopics are bound to do well on the box office.

Now a biopic on India’s prodigal tennis star Sania Mirza is all set to be made by Ronnie Screwvalla. His last movie Uri: The Surgical Strike was a hit and not only made it to the 100 crore club as well, but also went on to cross 200 crore mark on box office.

It has been months of negotiations that Ronnie finally bagged the right to make the movie on the legendary tennis star. Audiences would now watch Sania’s story on big screen, which would include her struggles along the way, the ups and downs she faced to reach where she is now.

Sania was quoted by Mumbai Mirror saying,

“It’s excitement combined with nervousness—a ‘butterfly in your stomach’ feeling—when you are about to let your life story out to the world. It’s what I felt when my biography was written and I feel exactly the same when my journey is going to be presented on the big screen. I know it’s in good hands with an astute producer like Ronnie (Screwvala), who’s known for telling stories impactfully. I am so excited to partner with him and his team at RSVP and honestly can’t wait for it to go on floors.”

Sania is married to Pakistani cricketer Shoaib Malik and is the winner of six Grand Slam titles.
