Books can illuminate us, inspire our lives or can at least help us spend some quality time. It is therefore very important to read some of the most inspiring and thought provoking works from the best of the authors around the world. Some of the women centric books which are appreciated in the reader clubs are:
1.A Thousand Splendid Suns- Khaled Hosseini: The story of this bestselling book from the author revolves around two women who showed compassion and kindness in an oppressive environment and comes out bravely against all the odds of emotional and physical brutality.
2.A Princess Remembers, Memoirs of Maharani of Jaipur- Gayatri Devi: This autobiographical book from the Maharani of Jaipur displays her strong character. This book clearly shows that despite being a princess herself, the lady had to undergo unfamiliar customs. The book inspires us as it depicts the extraordinary life lived by this fascinating woman well beyond her traditional limitations.

6.The Story of My Life- Helen Keller: This book is based on the journey of an extraordinary woman whose triumph over deafness and blindness inspires everyone. The unforgettable tale of the author is a token of hope and aspiration for many which makes it a must read.
7.I am Malala- Malala Yousafzai: This remarkable book is a true story of a girl who fought for the education of a girl child in the remote areas of Taliban. The girl became a symbol of peaceful protest against the wrongdoing and inspires the world to voice an opinion against the sins.
8.Palace of Illusions- Chitra Banerjee Divakaruni: The novel is one of the bestselling books of all times. It is basically a new interpretation of the epic Hindu story of Mahabharata through Draupadi’s point of view, wife of the five epic heroes, Pandavas. This book portrays the strong and powerful character of a woman who fights for her self-respect and dignity against all odds.
