Parmeshwar Godrej – The lady with tremendous fashion persona, the supreme international hostess, philanthropist, the vivacious woman and wife of Godrej Group Chairman Adi Godrej passed away at the Breach Candy hospital, Mumbai yesterday.
The world came crashing down for our socialites, movie stars, cricketers, artist and journalists who knew her personally. They describe her as warm, caring, giving and always to be fun with.
Known for her extravagant parties, charity event and hosting grand weddings for her friends Parmeshwar was always close to her friends. Imran khan, Shobha de, Sussane Roshan, Zeenat Aman, Aishwarya Rai,Vir Sanghvi took to social media to express their condolences to the Godrej family.
I have had my glimpses of Parmeshwar Godrej at a grand business tycoon wedding which was held at Mahalaxmi racecourse. Attended by Laxmi Mittal, Gauri Khan and other biggies and socialites. We have always seen her holding her husband’s hand. As she entered the wedding and when I approached her for interview Parmeshar said, “I don’t give interviews,just enjoy the wedding.” And very politely she walked away. That was first and last memory of seeing her closely.
