NFTs are Non Fungible Tokens that are virtual assets stored on the blockchain that validates the ownership of digital data such as photos, music, artwork, and in-game items.
NFTs have gained popularity this year with the artworks selling for millions of dollars. From crypto enthusiasts, influencers to now Bollywood celebrities, cricketers, and sportsmen NFTs are experiencing a surge in India to create and sell them.

1. Sunny Leone
Sunny Leone has become the first Indian actress to enter the non-fungible tokens (NFT) marketplace. The actress took to Twitter to announce her venture

2. Amitabh Bachchan
Amitabh Bachchan announced on August 30, that his NFTs will include an autograph poster of Sholay and poems narrated by him. Amitabh Bachchan’s NFT collection has been sold for a whopping 9,66,000 dollars (Rs 7.18 crore approx).
3. Salman Khan

NFT connect in India is not only limited to actors. Indian fashion has also experienced its debut in NFT through Manish Malhotra. The collection Included the sketches of dresses worn by Alia Bhatt, Deepika Padukone, Kareena Kapoor Khan, and Lisa Ray that were sold in seconds. In October, designer Manish Malhotra sold NFTs of digital sketches of some of his most famous creations for $4,000 a piece.
6. Suniel Shetty
Suniel Shetty has vouched in as an advisor and investor by an NFT marketplace. Similarly, Kunal Kapoor has also reportedly been investing in another marketplace on polygon blockchain.
7. Atul Agnihotri

9. Smriti Mandhana
Indian women’s cricket team star Smriti Mandhana and Indian former cricketer Zaheer Khan are the first to sign up exclusively for Rario –which is the World’s first officially licensed cricket-based digital collectibles platform.
10. Dinesh Karthik
Indian wicket-keeper and batsman Dinesh Karthik’s iconic six that won India the Nidahas Trophy was India’s first sports NFT as an animated clip.c
“In India, cricket is a religion and there are various memorable cricketing moments, like the 1983 World Cup Win, 2011 World Cup win, Sachin’s 100th hundred or the first IPL match. The world of cricket should dabble in the NFT space, which will grow in future,” says Dinesh, in a virtual conversation from the UAE.
11. Sonu Nigam
JetSynthesys has partnered with Sonu Nigam to launch a music NFT series. The NFT series will include Nigam’s single ‘Hall of fame’, along with capturing pages from his personal diary.
“It’s been a seamless and enriching experience, partnering with JetSynthesys, who, through its many entities, enabled a series of NFTs that reflect a rare and exclusive part of my life.
