Cricketers Hardik Pandya and KL Rahul found themselves in a pickle, courtesy to their ‘candid’ conversation at Koffee With Karan. Soon after the episode went on air, the cricketers faced backlash from the public for their remarks. The controversy gained so much momentum that it resulted in the makers of the show pulling down the episodes from everywhere. The cricketers even got suspended by BCCI as well. The ban was lifted after a few matches and Hardik Pandya even gave a great performance at the recent India Vs New Zeland match.
When Pandya was hitting six after six at the T20 international between India and New Zealand on February 8, the spectators cheered him but what caught everyone’s attention was a banner by a woman that read, “Pandya Aaj Karke Aaya Kya?” The photo of a lady holding the banner soon went viral on the social media as it was an indirect dig at his Koffee With Karan comment, “Mein Aaj Karke Aaya Hu.”

Koffee With Karan has lost sponsorship from Google, if reports are to be believed. Google did so owing to the backlash over Pandya and Rahul’s sexist remarks. During Aditya Roy Kapur and Sidharth Malhotra’s last episode, Karan did not mention Google Home but instead just said ‘turn on the rapid firelights’ and even Google logo was not seen alongside the show’s title as opposed to the previous episodes.
