The most anticipated film festival of the year, Cannes 2022 is here returning in its glamorous form, after the relaxation of Covid-19 rules. The 75th edition of the Cannes film festival kickstarted on Tuesday with celebrities attending the event from all over the world.
India has been named the ‘Country of Honor’ during the renowned Marche du Cinema, which will take place from May 17 to May 28 in France. Six Indian films will be officially exhibited this year, with actress Deepika Padukone joining the Cannes film festival’s top jury.
On the first day of Cannes 2022, a team of Indian superstars led by Information and Broadcasting Minister Anurag Thakur walked the festival’s famed red carpet, including AR Rehman, Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Prasoon Joshi, R Madhavan, Mame Khan, and Shekhar Kapoor.
This was India’s largest delegation at the Cannes Film Festival ever. From Tamannah Bhatia to Aishwarya Rai Bachhan, let’s look at what our favourite ladies adorned for the much-celebrated event.
1. Deepika Padukone
Deepika Padukone never disappoints and this time as the jury member, she also represented her country and culture with the look she chose. DP chose a Sabyasachi saree in a retro-looking glittering black and gold striped Sabyasachi saree that seemed to be inspired by a Bengal tiger. A ‘Julia Fox’ makeup look, a headband, and bold earrings completed the magnificent ensemble.
For Day-3, the red carpet queen wore a blazing red plunging neckline Louis Vuitton gown. The actress wore her hair in a sloppy high ponytail and wore a bold diamond neckpiece.
2. Tamannaah Bhatia
Telugu Superstar, Tamannaah Bhatia made a stunning debut at the festival this year. For day-1, Gauri and Nainika created a body-hugging bubble hem monochrome gown with a long tail for the actress. Designed by Shaleena Nathani, she accessorized her attire with diamond earrings and finished it off with dramatic eye makeup and neutral lip colour. Tamannah went for an all-black glittery, thigh-high slit cape gown for the second day.

3. Aishwarya Rai Bachhan
Making a dramatic entry accompanied by her signature wave, Aishwarya Rai Bacchan returned to the Cannes red carpet, grabbing attention all along. The former Miss World opted for a black gown by Dolce and Gabbana Her lovely outfit was a vibrant symphony of 3D flower motifs.
The megastar donned a ravishing mermaid-style silhouette pink gown designed by Gaurav Gupta for Day-3. Her hair was fashioned in loose waves and she matched her dress with matching accessories.
4. Pooja Hegde
Another Indian actress making her Cannes debut this year is the gorgeous superstar, Pooja Hegde. Looking like a princess, straight out from a fairytale, Pooja Hegde wore a stunning blush pink ball gown with feather details with utmost grace and elegance.
5. Urvashi Rautela
For her debut appearance, former Miss Diva Universe wore a pristine white gown with a long tulle by Tony Ward Couture. Styled by Bilal Faki, the diva wore heavy makeup with flaming red lips and a messy hair bun.
6. Hina Khan
Television star, Hina khan turned the French Riviera red with her alluring red strapless gown by the label Rami Al Ali. Her gown had a tight bodice and pleated accents throughout the length. Hina completed her ensemble with a pair of big earrings and a messy hair look.
7. Helly Shah
Making her Cannes debut, another renowned TV celebrity, Helly shah wore a green-hued part-shimmery embellished gown with an eye-catching neckline and thigh-high slit pairing it with a sleek bun hairdo.
