For a would-be-bride, the most important part of the wedding proceeds is her wedding outfit. Months are spent on planning, consulting and shopping to make sure they get the look right on the big day. WSL tries to make their task a little easier by noting down some of the top trends this season.
The Lehenga
Go for those really low waist flowing anarkalis. They are hot this season. Intricate gota detailing on the hem is what you need to look at. Try avoiding sequined work, these have been done to death and now look blah and boring. Sharara styled skirts can also be tried. Fitted is out, so is pencil cut.
Choli
Now is the time for Bollywood inspired super low cut choli. Remember Deepika Padukone in that tiny-weeny tangerine choli in Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani? Super chic and sexy! But, if you are not the bold kind or do not wish to flaunt much flesh, go for corset styled cholis. Try net sleeves or halter backs. Bikini styled blouses or those with cut-out backs will also help in adding that oomph factor. Full sleeved shrug jackets, preferably in velvet also make a good add on.
The Dupatta
Sheer is in. So is net. If your choli is plain, keep the dupatta a little on the heavier embroidered side. But do not over do it. Go for mix and match. This is the age of contrast. Contrast your dupatta with your lahenga. No matter how your dupatta looks, what matters is how you style it.
Color
Move over the traditional reds and pinks. Say hello to neon, color blocking or even pastels. Pop neon colours like orange, yellow, or even green can be played around with. Remember, the mantra is to mix and match and not all matchy matchy. If you are in for some drama, neon yellow and pink are a good combination. Navy blue is also a favorite this season. On the other hand, pastel shades like nude, cream and shades of white can also be played around with.
No matter what you wear, do not forget to wear that smile along! Happy wedding!
