Navratri is the time when you see tons of Sweet Potato in the market and you simply can’t do without them in during this vrat time. I still remember as a child mom would just pressure cooker these and give to us adding jaggerry and milk. It is one of the quickets and healthiest recipe to try during this time. Well, not just this there are hundreds of reason to make sweet potato kheer check out the following health benefits of them.
Sweet potato is a good source of dietary fiber, vitamin B6 and potassium, and a very good source of vitamin A, C and magnesium. It is rich in antioxidant. Sweet potato has plenty of healthy benefits. This kheer is very healthy as it has no sugar. It is also very delicious and filling. Sweet potato is one of the root vegetable so it is allowed during the fast or vrat. Instead of consuming occasionally try to add it into your regular diet. Following kheer/ payasam recipe is very easy and quick. An excellent combination of sweet potatoes, cardamom, nutmeg and jagerry. I must say it is a finger licking recipe you should try!!
➢ 250 gm sweet potato
➢ 2 cup milk (chilled)
➢ 1/2 cup grated jagerry/ or as per your taste
➢ 1/2 tsp cardamom powder
➢ 1/2 tsp nutmeg powder
➢ 2 tbsp dry fruits
➢ 1 tbsp ghee
➢ First, Boil the sweet potato till soft. Or pressure cook upto 2 whistle. Don’t over cook as it will become mushy.

➢ Peel the skin and cut it into a large pieces.
➢ In a big jar of grinder add the sweet potato, jagerry, cardamom, nutmeg powder and dry fruits, make a rough paste.
➢ Now add the milk and grind again till it become smooth paste.
➢ Transfer to the empty bowl. Pour pure ghee and serve immediately!!
