Buddy Up Network, an app aimed at fostering connections for people with disabilities and their caregivers, has officially launched across India. Co-founded by Gopika Kapoor and Moneisha Gandhi, the app is available for free in English and Hindi on both the App Store and Play Store.

Designed with safety and accessibility in mind, Buddy Up Network offers a secure environment with features like screen reader compatibility allows users of all abilities to easily navigate the app, two-factor authentication, and video call verification. The platform allows users to remain anonymous, keeping personal details confidential, while caregivers can monitor activity for added safety.
“Users are not required to provide their real names or profile pictures, and personal details like phone numbers and emails remain confidential, with additional activity monitoring available for caregivers,” the app company said.
Inspired by Real Experiences
Inspired by their experiences as mothers of neurodivergent boys, Moneisha and Gopika created Buddy Up Network to help others with disabilities form meaningful, supportive friendships.
“We created Buddy Up Network to extend that opportunity for true connection to others with disabilities across India, giving them a safe, supportive space where they can connect meaningfully,” shared Moneisha.
Gopika adds, “We want what every parent wants for their children: genuine friendships, and started working on creating Buddy Up Network when we saw how game changing these meaningful relationships were.”
Collaborating for Inclusivity
The app has partnered with prominent organisations, including Adapt India, the Down Syndrome Federation of India, and Ummeed Child Development Center, to ensure an inclusive and welcoming community for individuals of all abilities.
