In a vibrant celebration of India’s rich textile heritage, the Ministry of Culture is set to unveil “Anant Sutra – The Endless Thread” at Kartavya Path on Republic Day 2024. This spectacular textile installation, positioned behind the seated spectators, pays tribute to the women power of India and the dedicated weavers across the nation.

Featuring nearly 1,900 sarees and drapes from diverse corners of the country, the installation stands as a visual marvel. Wooden frames at varying heights along the Kartavya Path will display the timeless tradition of saree-making, accompanied by QR codes offering insights into weaving and embroidery techniques used.

Tribute to Weavers

Joint Secretary of the Ministry of Culture highlighted the exhibition’s significance, describing it as a tribute to the skilled weavers who have preserved this cultural legacy through generations. “Anant Sutra” serves as a captivating backdrop for Republic Day spectators, showcasing the rich diversity of weaving and embroidery arts from different States and Union Territories.
