Fresh Bus has inducted 21 women drivers as interns into its fleet, marking a significant step towards building a more inclusive and gender-diverse mobility ecosystem. The initiative has been undertaken in collaboration with the Society for Elimination of Rural Poverty (SERP) Telangana, Vertelo, and MOWO – Social Initiatives Foundation, with the aim of enabling women to access sustainable livelihoods in the transport sector, according to an official release dated January 6, 2026.
Training Focuses on Safety and Operational Excellence
The women drivers have undergone structured training covering safe driving practices, route management, customer interaction and operational preparedness. The programme is designed to equip them with the skills and confidence required to operate inter-city buses professionally, while addressing the traditional gender imbalance in public transport roles.
Commenting on the initiative, Sudhakar Chirra, Founder and CEO of Fresh Bus, said the company believes inclusivity must be central to the future of mobility. He noted that integrating more women into the driving workforce not only creates meaningful employment opportunities but also sets new standards for the industry.
