What’s up, ladies? we are sure that with so much festivities and the winter approaching, you must be talking with your friends day and night over text, possibly exchanging pictures and much more. When it comes to texting, WhatsApp is obviously the first choice of mobile phone users around the world as it provides a very simple interface, amazing instant messaging service and it ships all of those features free of cost. However, there has been a new report from the Facebook owned-instant messaging giant where the company has said that users who haven’t backed up their chat data over Google Drive will lose their chat histories.
How to Prevent Deletion of Chat Histories
This new development comes after the Instant Messaging giant had partnered up with Google to offer free storage to WhatsApp users for their chat and media history. Although you might be thinking that this bad news it is not really so. Since this new partnership of WhatsApp with Google will allow all the WhatsApp users to store their chat backups without worrying about running out of storage, you shouldn’t worry. Before this, a lot of users who already had a full Google Drive and tried running multiple backups of their WhatsApp chats were unable to complete the process because of insufficient space.
Step by Step Method
In case you haven’t backed up your chats on WhatsApp, we recommend that you head over to your WhatsApp Settings and then tap on Chats. You will then have to tap on the Chat Backup option, where you will see a button showing the option to Backup Chats. You will be prompted by the application to choose a Google Drive account to which you want to upload the chats and media. Select a Google Drive account and the application should start backing up your chats. You can also decide to set the frequency of the backup on your application.
