Vidya Balan Style Check 2013

The sexy, curvy and pretty Vidya Balan won everyone’s heart with her confident debut in Parineeta few years back, and, in recent years, she blew everyone away with her impressive performance in movies like Kahani, Paa and The Dirty Picture, among others. Apart from her performances, the most discussed thing about Vidya Balan has been her dressing sense.

People have loved her kind of fashion and many have criticised it, but the fact is you just can not ignore her style quotient. And what’s more, the comfort and elan with which she pulls off every outfit, sets her apart from others. We bring for you some Vidya Balan style tips for those who wish to follow this diva.


She has an enviable collection of sarees. She dazzles whenever she wears this very Indian, nine-yard outfit. During the Star Guild Award she was seen drapping a chiffon saree, at the celebration party of Kai Po Che she was seen wearing a black kanjivaram with a red border, for her wedding she chose to wear a red Banarsi saree. Point being, forget repeating a saree, she never repeats the type of saree! She is mostly dressed in Sabyasachis and never shies away from experimenting with colours. The traditional outfits that she wore at Cannes film festival recently were a talking point, as always!


Vidya’s ethnic look at the Cannes was lauded. Pankaj Surana designed her jewellery for the red carpet. The jewellery looked very Indian and had a Rajasthani touch to it. The neckpiece with three strings of crystal stones joined by a heart-shaped crystal locket and a hand carved gold ring with patraj work was the most talked about. It was studded with diamonds and an emerald cabochon was mounted on top of it. In fact, all her neckpieces and other jewellery items were up to the mark.

Ethnic handbags:

Vidya carries ethnic handbags and embroidered potlis with zari and gota work, which go very well with her traditional outfits. These are available in the market in a price range of Rs 900 and Rs 1,200. she also carries gorgeous velvet clutches and cane handbags, which go with sarees. These are priced between Rs 1,200 and Rs 1,700.

Make up:

Vidya accentuates her traditional outfits by applying very Indian make up. The way she applies her kajal, is something to die for. She uses MAC makeup wipes to remove the heavy makeup after her shoots. She uses natural and herbal products for her skin.


She flaunts her long hair by wearing it loose and at times by tying her hair in a bun.
