It is that time of the year! Diwali is just around the corner and now is the time to go berserk when it comes to shopping for clothes, sweets, gifts, candles, lights and fire crackers. While the festival of lights is enjoyed by all, kids enjoy it the most as they get to firecrackers. While all of us take precautions so that kids don’t get injured, kids are, after all, kids. It is your responsibility to tell them the precautions they need to take. Here is how you can celebrate a safe Diwali.Be safe this Diwali

1. Buy less

It is better to buy less number of crackers. This way you will save money and you can also tell kids the harmful effects fire crackers have on the environment. You can tell them about noise and air pollution.

2. Keep flammables at bay

Make sure the ideas and candles are kept away from flammable material like clothes, curtains, papers, and wood. Most importantly, keep kids away from diyas.

3. Store crackers safely

Keep the fireworks in a closed and tight box in a cool and dry place. Do not store day’s or candles in the same cabinet, to be on the safe side. Keep them away from kids and pets.

4. Emergency precautions

While bursting crackers, keep a bucket full of water near by. Make a note of emergency numbers to call in the case of accidents. Keep some basic medication with you.

5. What to wear

Take care of your clothes while bursting crackers. Make sure your kids are not wearing loose, synthetic clothes. They should be wearing cotton clothes. It’s must you take care of your saree pallus and dupattas.

6. One at a time

Always remember to tell kids, one firework at a time. This will reduce the probabilities of getting injured.

7. Keep the crackers away

Make sure your kids are not bursting crackers by holding them in their hands. Always keep an eye on them.

8. Go for the best quality

Always buy the best quality crackers. They may be slightly costly but remember you are dealing with kids here.

9. Go to open grounds

Never burst crackers at crowded places or on your terrace or balcony. Always go to an open ground close by.

10. Keep an eye

Kids tend to get excited while bursting crackers. Always keep an eye on them and hold their hands
