Review: Brand New Lux Soap Bar

We women always take care regarding the way we dress, the food we eat, the moisturizers we apply. Why should soap be any different?? Bathing is an important part of our health and beauty regime and soap has a vital role to play in it.

Some brands are just not brands. They have been in use for so long that their name could be used in place of the real product itself. For Example, Nirma would stand for Detergent, Colgate for toothpaste. Similarly, when it comes to bathing soap, Lux seems to be a prominent contender.

Lux has always been a catch to our eyes, not just because it’s a brand name that’s been around for a long time but also because it gets endorsed well by some bollywood brand ambassadors. Priced reasonably in the range of Rs.12 to Rs.18, it comes in various fragrances to suit different skin types. Lux is a Grade 1 soap.

Grade 1 is the highest category laid down by the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS). The grading of the soap is determined by the percentage of Total Fatty Matter (TFM) in the soap. TFM content is the ratio of mass of the fatty content to the mass of the soap. So, the higher the TFM the better and purer is the soap.

I have been using Lux since the time I was a little girl. I find the odour pleasant, not very harsh. We often confuse the freshness of the soap with the fragrance. I always believe that soaps are meant to clean and not just make you smell well. Lux is more of a beauty regimen, and cleans your skin very well. It makes you feel clean and pleasant. The smell is mild and pleasant. Leaves your skin feeling soft and suitable for almost all skin types.

I strongly recommend a bath with Lux. It will leave your skin feeling pampered.

Lux may not be very suited for few people with dry skin, although it’s quite mild. In that case, I would recommend women to use Dove Bathing bar for those with ultra sensitive and dry skin.
