Ponds – The brand for generation, the name itself just reminds us of the wide range of skin care products they have generated. A common household name in India, the brand distinguishes itself as one of the most well established and widely accepted brand globally.

With such global popularity, few would imagine the humble origins of ponds. Ponds was invented in the United States. Pharmacist Theron T. Pond made the ponds extract from the bark of the witch hazel tree. He had it patented for its use in treating minor wounds and skin ailments.

Theron Pond and his associates founded the T.T. Pond company in 1849 and from there. Theron’s surname i.e. ‘Ponds’ stuck to the brand.
