Maintaining your nails is as important taking care of your hair and skin. Picture this, you are shaking hands with someone and your nails and dirty and uncut. How embarrassing can that get? Similarly, well-maintained toenails accentuate your sexy shoes! Bottom line is, pamper your nails, because those who appreciate beauty, don’t usually miss finer points! Here are some tips:

Always apply a base coat. It helps in strengthening your nails. Stronger nails help in easy and better maintenance. The base coat, which is usually applied before applying a nail paint, contains vitamin E, aloe vera, protein and calcium that help in locking the moisture of the nails and keeps them healthy.

Paint them

Always apply nail polish as they as it protects nails from losing moisture. The locked moisture keeps nails healthy and strong. However, make sure you use an acetone-free nail polish remover. Acetone is a substance that steals the moisture from nails and makes them dry.

Cheap nail polishes ruin the quality of your nails. Make it a point to store your nail polishes in a refrigerator. This helps in maintaining the smooth consistency of the nail polish. Eat calcium-rich diet

Have lot of milk, curd and other calcium-rich food and dairy products. This will help in keeping nails healthy.

Protect from harmful detergents

While washing utensils or clothes, always use rubber gloves. Avoid keeping your nails soaked in water for a long period of time.
