Makeup Trends for 2014

2014 is going to be a great year for make-up! There is so much going on in the beauty world at the moment that there is something for everyone. What we especially love about the trends in 2014 is that everything has been toned down and softened so it’s very wearable for everyday women.

Lipstick is the must-have make-up product for 2014. Everyone’s going for a lot of colour on the lips! Orange is popular as ever! Especially dabbed on, the effect is like the after effects of eating an orange lolly. Berry is also very in at the moment, added as just a flush of colour in the day and heavy at night. Pastel lips are great too if you can pull them off.

Layering colours and using cream products under powder especially on eyes not only helps the colour last longer, it adds a lot of dimension and depth. On the runway we saw a lot of metallic shades and even pop colours like blue and green were layered on the eyes to create an amazing effect!

Another cool make-up idea on the eyes was the everlasting cat-eye, not only in black but in different colours and sometimes even in different styles, with double wings or done softly in eyeshadow.

Skin is going to be very dewy and illuminated so hoard up on the bronzers and illuminators, don’t forget to moisturise and exfoliate either, nothing like your skin’s inner glow right?

Other trends that will definitely be seen through 2014 is nail art! Geometric designs will be very fashionable on nails, as will the 40s red manicure so if you’re lazy, you’re in luck!

And of course last but not the least, glitter is going to be super popular, so if you’re a glitter girl, you’re going to love 2014! Matte glitters are relatively new but worth a try, so are bright reflective glitters paired with bright colours. Glitz is here to stay!

Of course to pull off all these trends, don’t forget that confident smile, it really brings the whole look together!
