I’m not a fan of underwires as I feel they dig and poke into you…Madhavi Jagdish, SimpleBra

The idea to start SimpleBra.com came to Madhavi Jagdish when she was on vacation in London. It was almost impossible to find a light wirefree bra, which would go with her summer clothes. Soon she realized that push-up bras make up most of the market and there was a need for. So she decided to design one for herself and launched SimpleBra in 2014. Let’s find out from Madhvi why is it so important for a woman to invest in a comfortable, properly sized bra.Madhvi-10 (1) (1)

1. You are a graphic designer by profession, what inspired you to come up with simplebra.com.

I spend around 8-10 hours a day in front of the computer, and wanted to make something physical that would allow me to express myself. Finding the right bra was always a challenge for me, so it turned out to be the perfect thing to explore.front2 (1)

2. How to pick a perfect bra? Give us some Tips?

You should pick a bra that allows you to breathe easily, and isn’t too tight or restrictive. I’m not a fan of underwires as I feel they dig and poke into you, and women who are not very well-endowed don’t really need them. When you buy a bra, it should feel a bit tight on the loosest hook (you should be able to fit your thumb between the band and your back), and as it stretches, you can move it to the middle hook.

3. Why do you think women shouldn’t opt for push up bra?
I think women should choose a push up bra for the right occasion, especially if it is a wirefree push-up. Wearing one at all times can be a bit restrictive as they are usually very tight and lift the breasts higher than is natural.detail1 (1)

4. What kind of response have you gotten from women who tried Simple Bra?
I have had an overwhelmingly positive response, especially from women who are used to underwires and didn’t think they could switch.

5. Where does Simple Bra stand in terms of style?
SimpleBra is all about comfort. The bra has a very simple construction, but with playful fabrics and patterns. It’s a bra that appeals to all age groups. I plan on releasing more fabric patterns and solid colors soon.

6. What is the pricing of your product in India?
SimpleBra is priced at Rs. 2249. You can order a bra at SimpleBra.Com

7. Four out of five Indian women do not know their right size and have been wearing wrong size bras all their life? Do you agree to this and how awareness can be created?

You could say four out of five women worldwide do not know their right size! I think it’s a problem that can be solved easily – get a measuring tape and use a calculator like this one: www.herroom.com

Then, try on the size you get and one bigger / one smaller in both cup and band combo. For instance, if you are a 34B, try a 34A and a 36B. Ultimately, you need to spend time in the bra to figure out if it is the right fit. It should allow you to move and breathe easily without causing pain or feeling too tight.
