How To Throw A Safe Birthday Party For Children During COVID

Let’s see some of the ways by which we can celebrate a COVID friendly birthday party.

No doubt, the pandemic has changed the way of living. That so-called ‘normal routine’ is no more normal now. Things have changed drastically, so has the way of celebration, be it marriages, birthday bashes, beach parties or get together. And when it comes to the birthday party of a kid, then it becomes very important to celebrate it with extra safety. To make it more special, just try some of the below mentioned ways of celebration that are exciting and at the same time safe too.

How to Throw a COVID-Friendly Birthday Party :

Let’s see some of the ways by which we can celebrate a birthday party while following the rules and taking necessary precautions in the COVID time.

1. Virtual Celebration

‘Virtual Celebration’ is one of the safest modes to connect with friends, relatives and elders. This could be done by organizing the party using Google duo, Zoom or Microsoft team. Also, it could be turned into a more fun celebration by deciding an interesting attire theme for the party. Based on your child’s current favourite interest decide the theme be it superheroes, cartoons, circus or sea animals. Plus, plan a virtual game like a scavenger hunt, mingle, boggle etc. for the kids so that they don’t feel left behind in the whole event of celebration and enjoy the party to the fullest. Make a group on the virtual platform and send the party call link for the invites. Coordinate the party time well in advance to avoid any last time cancellations.

2. Backyard Celebration

Decorate your house backyard into a full-fledged grand venue with colourful balloons, banners and streamers. The ‘backyard celebration’ not only gives a refreshing look to the whole party but is also a little bit different from the normal celebration. Choose the outdoor games for the party keeping in mind the social distancing norms. You can also plan an outdoor movie for the party.

3. Distance Celebration

‘Distance Celebration’ is all about celebrating the event in-person with your friends, family and loved ones. Avoid any big celebration and keep the guest list short. Preferably, keep the birthday party invites to children only. Keep the sitting arrangement of chairs and tables maintaining a distance of six feet. Also, communicate the message among invites to stay home if not feeling well. Most importantly, follow all COVID safety norms throughout the birthday celebration.

4. Only Family Celebration

‘Only Family Celebration’ includes just the family members and is the best way of celebration from the safety point of view. Decorate your house in a unicorn theme to give the whole celebration a unique look or you can also try some dreamy theme for the party. Also, add a group activity such as playing a video game or watching a movie as a part of the celebration. So, just relax and enjoy the party simply being at home.

5. Bonfire Celebration

A bonfire party is fun to be outdoor activity plus a celebration of a special event. All this need is an open area which could be in the backyard of a house or a society compound with enough seating room. Just keep in mind to have a good sound system to add life to the party. To make the party more interesting, you can add some fun activity like singing, dancing or stand-up comedy.

Simply, take care of few things while throwing a birthday party for your child.

  • Decide a safe venue for the party. Preferably, try to keep the party at your home.
  • Make sure safety measures are being followed right from the face mask to hand sanitizing.
  • Serve the snacks or meal on single-serving plates only. Make sure the plates are biodegradable and non-harmful to the environment.
  • Try to keep the guest list small keeping in mind the current COVID situation.
  • Maintain the social distancing throughout the celebration.

Whatever the way of celebration you choose, just focus on enjoying the special day of your child by following all the above-mentioned norms.
