Refrigerator is like safe custody of our kitchen. We depend on it to safely store all of our perishable foods until we’re ready to use them .But unfortunately we dump eatables into refrigerator like a store room and automatically it become so messy with lots of spill, odor. Sometime we forget it will also need some space to pass the air and it results into low efficiency. You should always clean your refrigerator at least once in a month. It is better if you do vacuum cleaning of machinery professionally once in a year. It will definitely improve efficiency of your refrigerator.
Always switch off and unplug the refrigerator before cleaning.
Remove all expired food items and good food items, keep all expired food items into garbage bag and keep all good items into ice bag so that it will remain good till you clean the fridge.
Remove all removable shelves and vegetable trays; be careful while removing them otherwise it will break up. Place them in the sink. You can use dish soap water and lukewarm water. Be careful while washing glass and ceramic items. After washing keep them aside to air-dry.
Now clean the interior part of the refrigerator from top to bottom with clean and wet cloth you can use mild soap water, plastic scrubber and sponge for better result. Pay attention towards spilled area, you can use white toothpaste for hard stain. Lastly wipe down with dry and clean cloth.
Don’t ignore rubber door seal and shelf joint area. You can use your old toothbrush to clean this area. Wipe down the walls and every shelf.
Now put the food items, vegetables and fruit back into the fridge. Make sure all bottles, jar and pots should be clean and wiped off.
Clean the freezer as above mentioned method of cleaning.
Last but not least clean the refrigerator from externally from top to bottom and from all the sides. If you have stainless steel fridge use white vinegar, otherwise you can use mild soap warm water. Be careful if you are using white colored refrigerator it will get yellowish immediately if you use hard detergent.
How to Keep your refrigerator odor free
Keep baking soda open in the little bowl it will keep your refrigerator odor free.
You can also use coffee grinds for keeping your fridge fresh and odorless.
Try lemon juice water mixed with vinegar.
Try banana peels they will clear bad odor.
Try orange peels they leave a mild citrus fragrance.
