Actress Amrita Rao, whose recent movie Thackeray released on Friday, has opened up about not feeling comfortable doing lovemaking scenes on screen.
In a recent interview to IANS, Amrita talked about her return to the big screen after a decade, her much appreciated chemistry with Shahid Kapoor and why she doesn’t feel comfortable doing intimate scenes on screen.
Amrita said, As the cinema is changing, on-screen kissing, love-making scenes are becoming part of the narrative. “I am not saying it is wrong, because it is the reflection of how our society has changed and become comfortable with it. But I am uncomfortable performing it on screen. Love-making is so personal to me that if I do it on screen, it is like I am leaving a part of my soul. I cannot do that.”
Amrita said that it is not about right or wrong but is rather a choice to make, and rightly so!
Amrita started her career 16 years back with the film ‘Ab Ke Baras’ and then went on to act in Ishq Vishq, Main Hu Na, Vivah and Sajjanpur. Her on-screen chemistry with Shahid Kapoor was nightly appreciated in Ishq Vishq And Vivah.
When asked if she would like to act with Shahid again, Amrita said, “Well after Vivah, we should have done more films together but I really do not know why it did not happen.”
“The good thing is that there is still an audience waiting for us to come together and do a film. As the audience, even I am looking forward to such an occasion to happen,” added Amrita.
Amrita also said that she would like to work with actor Ayushmann Khurrana because she “enjoys watching him on the screen a lot.”
