7 Tea Time Snack Recipes From Masterchefsmoms Kitchen

It goes without saying we’re huge fans of Masterchefmom’s cooking. Ever since we came across her Instagram account we have been thinking of putting our fav recipes in a list just for you. with that in mind, we’ve round up 7 tea time snack recipes from Uma Raghuraman’s kitchen whom we absolutely adore!

1. Khaman Dhokla with a twist:

Khaman Dhokla

Fluffy dhokla anytime of the day is good. Masterchefmom has given her own twist to it. Add Besan- Methi – Soya Flour. Generous amounts of Kasuri methi is something we have never tried in Dhokla. Add sugar, salt and mixed with buttermilk. Rest it for 1 hour, add fruit salt and steamed them. Tempered them with Classic Pongal tempering of cumin, pepper, and ginger with loads of curry leaves. And of course used lots of fresh coconut. We’re definitely going to try this today.

2. Whole wheat dosa:

Dosa

Call it dosa, ghavan or whole wheat crepes! They taste yum with the hot cup of chai. Wondering how to make it? Just mix whole wheat flour in water to make the batter. Add cumin and salt to taste. Add a teaspoon of rava ( cream of wheat ) for some texture. When you have people who love this crepe and can have it at any time of the day, then it is so handy for those days when you have completely run out of ideas and vegetables. You can find this recipe on her blog too.

3. Mysore Masala Dosa:

Why go anywhere else when you can make restaurant style Mysore masala dosa at home. Dosai smeared with spicy red chutney and stuffed with chilli flavoured potato masala is simply mouthwatering. Whether you love dunking it in sambar , chutney or have it as is, the dosa is just too tempting .

4. Chakli:

Chakli

Call it Chakli or Murukku. These deep fried chaklis are not at all bad for your health. Well, it’s recommended by our fav dietician Rujuta Diwekar. Loaded with variety of pulses, sesame and ajwain Chakli goes best with your afternoon with tea or coffee.

5. Mirchi Pakora:

Mirchi Pakoda

Masterchef mom made these few weeks backs as she shared on her Instagram she wrote, “Our ‘Coffee’ time snacks yesterday – Street Food – Pakoras/ Bajji . Wanted to make Indo-Chinese Gobi Manchurian for the fried rice that I made yesterday morning. But then it ended up as bajji/ bajjiyas/ fritters/ pakoras- gobi/ cauliflower, loonnnggg bajji( had to cut it into half) and karpuravalli/ omavallu leaves bajji .

6. Matar kulcha:

Matar kulcha

We couldn’t take our eyes off when we saw this. We are thrilled to try Delhi style matar kulcha at home. What about you?

7. Chinese Dosa:

Who doesn’t love Bombay street style Chinese dosa? It’s Mumbaikars favorite street food after Vada Pav. We just love this fusion combo of MasterChef mom.

Hope we have given you enough craving and loads of food inspiration for a good evening. Making any of these recipes? If so, share a photo with us and don’t forget to tag us @instagram.com/whatSHElikes.in
