Beauty has many manifestations. Apart from self-grooming, beautification of different parts of body is now in vogue. The latest trend is vaginal grooming. Glorifying and celebrating womanhood has been an exciting experience for the adventurous females. But, is such fashion worth the pain taken?

Vajazzling:

This fashion involves using jewels and glitters to make it look attractive. These are usually stick-on jewels. This is usually done after having a full wax. This trend was started by Jennifer Love Hewitt.

How safe is it? : There is no guarantee as to how a freshly-waxed skin will react to the adhesive of these stick-on jewels. Sometimes the adhesive may cause irritation which may subside, but there is a chance that it might get scratchy.

Dyeing of the pubic hair:

The adventurous kinds find dyeing of pubic hair a great way to hide their greys down there.

How safe is it? Vaginal skin is 10 times more sensitive than the scalp for which the dyes are basically manufactured. Though it is a personal choice to dye one’s public hair, experts say that this might lead to extra white discharge, redness or irritation.

Bleaching:

The skin of the vulva often turns dark because of constant shaving and waxing. To get rid of the dark skin many women have resorted to bleaching.

How safe is it? Any type of bleaching substance will cause blisters, skin irritation or chemical burns. Experts think it to be a stupid idea and it is advised that you consult an expert before going for it.

Brazilian waxing:

First they apply warm wax and then the hair is removed from the roots with strips of cloths after the wax hardens. The cloth-strips are quickly pulled off.

How safe is it? Experts are of the opinion that this may lead to tearing of tissues of the delicate vaginal skin, rashes, in-grown hair and even vaginal infection. There are many salons that do not follow proper hygiene. Infections can cause serious complication as an abscess can go up the genital tract.
